357rocks

Being a part of the Greater Cincinnati music scene, for more than 35 years, it’s only natural that 357 has had a huge following, and much success.

From being invited to be the opening act for the Gregg Allman Band Tour, back in 1984, to playing the identical role with Molly Hatchet, 357 has been rocking with the best of them.

It comes as no surprise to many then, I am sure, that the next step has been a long time coming…..i.e., being on the precipice of releasing their first EP.

Like most up and coming bands, they finally jelled after a few lineup changes along the way, and then they were everywhere: Northern KY, West Side, East and North Sides, Sawyer Point….well, you get the drift.

Jimi Cray on head turning guitar lead and vocals, Double D. Snikyl driving the backbeat, and sharing lead vocals, Timothy Ray on bass, holding down the bottom end, and throwing in some vocals, and finally, Jay Warner with his deep, bluesy vocals, and playing on keys.

The stories and gigs have been countless. Their craft honed like all fine journeyman do, hours and hours, gig after gig.

But tragedy struck. And it hit hard. Jay passed suddenly, and way too young, we have heard that story way too many times.

But, they re-grouped. Time was running out. A decision was made to move on, never forgetting about their fallen brother. So another band brother, Duncan Geoffrey was invited to step in, to lend his talent on vocals and keys.  Creativity started soon, overflowing from the stored melodies emotions and stories needing to be heard. This group of small town boys got it going. They are off and rocking again.

A New testament, so to speak.

Now is the beginning of what they all have been dreaming of. It’s 357’s turn to do what they have always been destined to do. Write, record, produce, and make the quality Music Americana, that Midwestern rockers live to do.
